Maytag Dishwasher Installation - PartsIPS

Dishwashers are rapidly transitioning from a luxury item to a necessity today. They are fantastic at saving you time and keeping your utensils and silverware clean and sanitary. All you have to do is load it, set it, and leave it alone. Your plates and utensils will be clean and sanitised once more. Forget about the time-consuming job of hand-washing each filthy dish. Forget about wrinkling fingers from prolonged contact with water. With a dishwasher, all of that trouble is become obsolete. With all of these advantages in mind, we created this blog Maytag Dishwasher Installation for you.

Maytag Dishwasher Installation

Remove Packaging

Cut the box all the way around the dishwasher base following the dotted line. Remove all shipping items from the box, save any included boards for use as shims inside the cabinet if necessary. Remove any styrofoam bits from the interior of the dishwasher. Tilt the dishwasher on its back and remove the shipment base with the assistance of another.

Get the Dishwasher Ready for Installation

Remove the toe panel and, on newer Maytag dishwashers, the drip tray, unhook the drip sensor, and leave aside. Then, as instructed in the installation instructions, route the power cable through the terminal box and connect the remaining wires. Connect the drain hose to the drain port, then run it and the power wire below the dishwasher's back legs.

If you need to raise the floor beneath the dishwasher or fit it into a slightly wider cabinet, use the provided wood runners as shims.

Adjust the Height and Connect to the Water Supply

Connect the water supply line to the elbow hose fitting, then connect the fill hose to the valve on the bottom of the dishwasher and guide it toward the back of the dishwasher. Tighten by hand, then use pliers to tighten another 1/4 to 1/2 turn.

Measure the height of your cabinet opening from the floor to the bottom of the countertop and adjust the rear levelling legs to fit.

Set the Dishwasher in its Place

Allow a buddy to assist you in standing the dishwasher upright and moving it near to the cabinet opening. The power connection, water supply, and drain hose should all be routed through the hole on the side of the cabinet opening. Insert the dishwasher into the aperture until it is about 6 inches from the rear.

Attach the Dishwasher to the Countertop and Cabinets

Slide the dishwasher back until the door is flat with the front of the surrounding cabinet doors, then insert anchor brackets into the open holes on the left- and right-hand top of the dishwasher collar or into slots on either side of the dishwasher. Adjust the front levelling legs until the dishwasher is level, then check for levelness along the top edge and up and down the door. The anchor brackets should then be screwed in place.

Connect the Hoses and the Power and Test the Dishwasher

Connect the water supply line to the hot water line, then switch on the manual shut-off valve. The drain hose should be connected to the drain port. Before connecting the dishwasher drain to a new drain disposal, be sure to knock out the disposal drain stopper and remove it. If you have a Maytag dishwasher, reconnect and return the drip tray to the dishwasher's bottom. Connect the power cord.

Perform a Test Cycle and Attach the Toe Panel

Details on how to perform a test cycle to check for leaks may be found in the dishwasher installation instructions. Install the access panel and toe panel after adding insulation beneath the door. To fully display your new, industrious dishwasher, remove the protective film from the door and inside racks.

Conclusion

It is not always necessary to hire a professional to replace an outdated dishwasher. You may do it yourself as long as you have the necessary plumbing and electrical skills, but make sure to follow the printed dishwasher installation instructions that came with your dishwasher. If you don't have access to the required place, hire a professional to assist you in getting your Maytag dishwasher up and running.
